What to look for in a portable pool

what-to-look-for-in-a-portable-pool-web

Do you want to enjoy the benefits of a pool this summer, but don't have $10,000 to $20,000 to install one? A portable pool could be the solution you are looking for. At Clark Rubber, you can buy portable pools for anywhere between approximately $200 for a kids size pool to $3,000 for a larger family model.

Of course, these come in all shapes and sizes, each with different benefits. What should you be looking for when you want to buy a portable pool?

A high quality portable pool frame

If you are buying a portable pool with a metal frame, it is a good idea to check if it is galvanised. The Galvanisers Association of Australia says galvanisation provides complete protection against the elements, as well as a longer live than a metal without this coating.

The Intex range of Ultra Frame portable pools, available at Clark Rubber, have high-strength galvanised frames to ensure durability, corrosion resistance and stability for your portable pool.

A high quality pool filter

Your filter is one of the most important pieces of equipment for your pool. A filter that does not function properly can lead to cloudy, unhealthy water. If your portable pool does not have a cover, it will be especially important that your filter is top quality.

For example, the Intex Ultra Frame Pool Rectangular 18FT - with Sand Pump from Clark Rubber uses a Sand Filter pump with a pump flow rate of 1,200 gallons per hour, and meets C ETL US standards. This ensures good performance, keeping your water as clean as possible.

A Sand Filter Pump will cost more up front, but can save you money in the long run. Cartridge Filter Pumps will provide a cheaper up front cost, but you will need to replace the cartridge filter periodically.

The full range of portable pool chemicals

Even though a portable pool is generally smaller and easier to maintain than a larger above ground pool or in ground pool, it still requires the right pool chemicals. From sanitisers and oxidisers to solutions for sustaining water balance, your portable pool has to be kept in great condition.

At Clark Rubber, we are the pool experts. We can test samples of your pool water regularly, identifying any issues and make sure you have all of the pool chemicals you need for a safe, clean swimming environment all summer. If you’re short on time we can also do the work for you with our Onsite Pool Care service.

Portable pools are a fantastic way to make the most of the holidays without breaking the bank - but it's still essential to look out for the best quality models that you can find, to ensure that you are swimming for many summer’s to come. At Clark Rubber, we're the pool experts - speak to us if you have any questions.
