Welcome to the all-new Clark Rubber Chirnside Park – our very first Project Ignite store and the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our brand and franchise network.


For decades, Clark Rubber has built its reputation as a trusted destination for pools, foam, and rubber – known for being fun, safe, reliable, and knowledgeable. But as customer expectations evolve and retail continues to transform, we recognise the need to innovate. Project Ignite represents that innovation – a bold commitment to reimagining the in-store experience and positioning Clark Rubber for the future.

At its heart, Project Ignite is designed around three key goals:

  1. Reposition our brand for today’s modern customer, particularly younger families, without losing the essence of who we are.

  2. Enhance the emotional and experiential connection our customers have with the brand, making shopping easier, more intuitive, and more enjoyable.

  3. Create a scalable, efficient store format that drives productivity, supports franchisee growth, and strengthens profitability.

To achieve this, we partnered with two leading experts – the Retail Doctor Group, specialists in consumer behaviour, and McCartney Design, Australia’s foremost retail environment consultancy. Together, we conducted extensive research into what customers want from a modern retail experience. One key insight stood out: 95% of purchasing decisions are made emotionally, not rationally.

With that in mind, the Chirnside Park store has been designed to be both functional and emotionally engaging. The layout features a centralised service hub, ensuring staff are always within reach to provide friendly, expert assistance. Clearly defined product zones, intuitive pathways, and strong visual cues make shopping simple and engaging. Striking yellow power ends highlight key product areas and feature large digital screens that showcase inspiring, centrally managed video content. Bulky products like sheet rubber and flooring are neatly positioned at the rear, improving flow and visibility. The modular layout allows flexibility across different store sizes, ensuring the format can be efficiently rolled out nationwide.

Project Ignite is more than a store redesign – it’s a strategic evolution. It positions Clark Rubber to lead the category, deliver greater franchise success, and enhance the customer experience for years to come.
